POST-GRADUATION WORK PERMIT in CANADA

Length: Up to 3 years

Canada is not only one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the words, but also one of the most welcoming. As a major benefit of studying in Canada is the post-graduation work permit (PGWP). A person is eligible for a PGWP, if he/she has completed a program of study at a designated learning (DLI) in Canada.

Graduates holding a PGWP can:

  • Work full-time
  • Work part-time
  • Be self-employed

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada is currently offering the following:

  • A pathway to permanent residency for 40,000 international graduates that have completed an approved Canadian post-secondary program within the last four years (no earlier than January 2017).
  • Enabling international graduates with PGWP that has expired or will expire soon to apply for a new open work permit through July 27, 2021.
  • Allowing international students unable to study in-person in Canada due to COVID-19 travel restrictions to complete their entire program online from outside Canada and remain eligible for PGWP. Eligible studies include those in progress from March 2020 until December 31, 2021.

 

 

UNITED KINGDOM: GRADUATE IMMIGRATION ROUTE

Length: 2 years and  3 years for PhD Graduate

 

Home to the world’s oldest speaking universities, which attracts over 500,000 international students annually and many are eager to stay after graduating. The graduate route (also known as the 2 years post-study work visa), is set to open on July 1, 2021.

UK Graduates are eligible for this post-study work visa if:

  • They have earned a degree at the undergraduate level or above with a qualifying UK Higher Education Provider in summer 2021 or later
  • Have a track record of compliance
  • Have a valid student visa when you submit your application

In addition, PhD graduate are eligible for 3years post-study work visa.
